Finance Assistant

Position: Finance Assistant Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum Location: Ayrshire, Scotland (Office-based) Industry: FMCG Key Responsibilities: * Assist with day-to-day financial operations, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining financial records. * Support in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company deadlines. * Assist with bank reconciliations and managing petty cash. * Process and manage accounts payable and receivable. * Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve any financial queries or discrepancies. * Assist in the preparation for audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. * Help streamline finance processes and improve efficiencies within the finance function. Skills & Experience: * Proven experience in a finance or accounts role, ideally within the FMCG sector, although candidates with a strong finance background from other industries will also be considered. * Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and finance procedures. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (knowledge of VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, etc.). * Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) is a plus. * Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work. * Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
